Buon Halloween!

Ciao e bentornat*! Com’è andato Halloween per voi? Hi and welcome back! How was your Halloween?

Come ogni anno con i nostri amici organizzano una festa per il 31 ottobre e, normalmente ci travestiamo! Quindi quest’anno non è stato da meno! Ho pensato ai personaggi del fumetto inglese “Dov’è Wally?” perchè volevo della simpatia e così è stato! E ora passiamo a guardare come sono fatti i costumi!

As every year, our friends organise an Halloween party and we usually dress up! So this year I decided to dress me and my boyfriend as the couple from “Where’s Waldo”!

Un pò di tecnica! Let’s get technical!

Entrambi i nostri costumi hanno circa la stessa matrice! Mi spiego meglio: entrambe le nostre felpe vengono da La Mia Boutique 10/2017 ed è il modello 18, una felpa da uomo. Per me ho tagliato una 46 e per lui una 52! Forse la prossima volta accorcerò il modello di almeno 10 cm perchè è abbastanza lungo, ma poco male!

Both our costumes comes more or less from the same pattern: the sweatshirt is from LaMiaBoutique 10/2017, pattern 18, a man sweatshirt, and I cut for me a size 46 and for him a size 52. I think I will shorten the sewatshirt next time, as it is a bit longer but other than that, perfect!

Per la cuffia sono partita dalle istruzione di un modello di MellySews, questo qui, che però ho pesantemente modificato: accorciato il modello, non doppiato, più stondato, con banda sotto a chiudere il tessuto superiore.

For the beanie hat I heavily modified the one Melissa from Melly Sews gives instructions on her blog, here. I shortened it, made more rounded on the upper part, no reversible side and added a lower band.

I pantaloni li ho ricopiati da un paio di una tuta che lui normalmente mette che ha l’elastico in vita e ho aggiunto, impunturando, le finte tasche e la finta patta!

The pants he’s wearing are copied from a pair he already owns and I topstiched the fake pockets and the fake flap as you have on the original drawing ;)!

Ho impunturato anche la mia gonna con finte tasche e finta patta, perchè così erano coordinate!

E la mia gonna? And my skirt?

La mia gonna l’ho ricavata senza modello perchè non avevo tempo e ho tracciato un rettangolo con una larghezza vita di circa 10 cm più della mia e l’ho svasato nella parte dell’orlo.

I draw my skirt without pattern cause I had no time so I traced a rectangle and I flared on the hem.

E poi, con gioia, le calze! Le calze sono il modello di Marilla Walker che ho constatato non trovate più, ma vi lascio il link, magari un giorno lo rimetterà fuori! Lo acquistai nel lontanerrimo 2015 e se mi devo fare delle calze tipo collant, uso sempre quello!

And then, the piece I’m prouder of, my tights! The tights are a Marilla Walker pattern that seems to be out of print: on her new website there’s no sign of it and it’s a pity! If I need new tights, I use that pattern and, even if I adapted it to my legs and everything, I really love it!

Ma vogliamo parlare dei tessuti? Fabrics, anyone?

I tessuti che ho utilizzato sono tre: il rigato bianco e rosso che ho acquistato da Giesse Scampoli ed è un cotone misto lino che per quel che dovevamo fare, è stato ottimo!

For this costume, I used three fabrics: the red and white striped is a cotton linen mix, bought from Giesse Scampoli.

Il cotone garzato blu per la gonna e i pantaloni era mio ed è molto molto poco elasticizzato. Il tessuto bianco garzato a costine utilizzato per i polsini e gli scolli era mio anche quello ed è quello che normalmente si usa sulle felpe per i polsini.

The light gauze blue cotton used for the skirt and pants was mine and it was nothing to a little little stretch. The white fabric is a ribbed cotton used for sweatshirts and their necklines and it was mine too.
