Da qualche tempo collaboro con Maria di Maria Denmark Sewing, creatrice di cartamodelli indipendenti e ho avuto l’opportunità di cucire il nuovo blazer del nuovo Sewing Life magazine 7.
It’s about a few months now that I’m collaborating with Maria from Maria Denmark Sewing, indie pattern creator and I’ve had the opportunity to sew the new blazer you’ll find on the new Sewing Life Magazine 7.
Come funziona Sewing Life Magazine? Per ogni numero hai un modello da cucire e tutti i tutorial per crearlo e renderlo tuo! Io ho deciso che questo blazer sarebbe stato perfetto per un look da ufficio molto classico e ho scelto un lana italiana grigia, che può essere abbinata quasi a tutto!
How does Sewing Life Magazine works? For each and every number you have a new pattern with all the tutorials you need to make it perfect for yourself! I decide to go with a grey Italian wool for this blazer!

Ho cucito due blazer perchè già che c’ero, mi sembra cosa buona e giusta! Uno in lana italiana e l’altro in lino misto seta.
I’ve sewn two blazers, cause why not?! One is with Italian wool, the other one is a blend of linen and silk.
La scelta della lana italiana è stata dalla praticità: il grigio può essere abbinato a moltissime fantasie, bilanciando l’insieme e diciamoci la verità, il mio guardaroba ha sempre bisogno di indumenti un pò passepartout poichè i fiori sono belli ma ci vuole qualcosa che li equilibri!
I have chosen Italian wool to have a practical yet stylish garment: grey can be matched with a lot of different patterns, balancing the whole outfit. My wardrobe is in desperate needs of neutral garments to mix and match with my prints!
La scelta del lino misto seta è stata dettata dalla fantasia poco convenzionale e la voglia di avere un blazer che potessi abbinare anche a capi un pò più sbarazzini! E poi devo ammettere che è perfetto per la mezza stagione, senza appesantire!
I chose the linen/silk blend to change the blazer concept: I wanted a blazer that could downplay its shape and match with some more funny garments without being too bossy! And, may I say, it’s just perfect for Fall when it’s chill yet not cold completely.

Come vi anticipavo all’inizio, questo blazer pur essendo molto pratico, racchiude i dettagli che fanno la differenza: le tasche a filetto, grande odio e amore fra chi cuce, che permettono di affinare la tecnica e il montaggio della fodera.
As anticipated at the beginning, even though this blazer is really practical, it has all the details that make the difference: welt pockets, the greatest love/hate relationship every sewist have and setting the lining and bagging it.
E a proposito della fodera: puoi scegliere e sbizzarrirti con il colore che preferisci! Nel blazer di misto lino/seta ho scelto una fodera rossa per riprendere la mini linee esterne, rosse anch’esse!
Speaking of lining: you can get as crazy or as normal as you wish! I have chosen a red lining for the linen/silk blend to match the tiny red stripes on the outside!
