Da qualche tempo collaboro con Maria di Maria Denmark Sewing, creatrice di cartamodelli indipendenti e ho avuto l’opportunità di cucire il nuovo vestito Crescent Lake di Sewing Life magazine numero 10.
It’s about a few months now that I’m collaborating with Maria from Maria Denmark Sewing, indie pattern creator and I’ve had the opportunity to sew the new Crescent Lake dress you’ll find on the Sewing Life Magazine issue 10.
Come funziona Sewing Life Magazine? Per ogni numero hai un modello da cucire e tutti i tutorial per crearlo e renderlo tuo! Non appena ho visto il figurino di questo nuovo vestito, l’ispirazione che ho avuto è stata quella del viaggio e, data la zona rossa nella quale siamo al momento, la zona comfort l’ho messa da parte per scatenarmi con il mix & match delle stoffe!
How does Sewing Life Magazine work? For each and every number you have a new pattern with all the tutorials you need to make it perfect for yourself! Once I saw the flat of this new dress, my inspiration ran towards travels, but, helas, as we cannot travel at the moment, some good ol’ mix & match with my fabrics did the trick!
Il vestito Crescent Lake! The Crescent Lake dress!
Anche il vestito Crescent Lake è molto pratico, come tutti i modelli di Sewing Life Magazine: la variabile che però in questo caso allunga un pochino la sua creazione sono le arricciature presenti nella gonna. Le arricciature sono il suo bello, senza ombra di dubbio, ma che richiedono il giusto tempo e la giusta attenzione!
The Crescent Lake dress is practical and stylish too, like all the other patterns from Sewing Life Magazine: bear in mind, though, its skirt gatherings may take you a little while. I loved the shape of the skirt, but in order to create it, you better schedule all the time needed to gather properly this beauty!
E la stoffa? What about the fabric?
Per questo abito, ho scelto una base di cotone nera e aggiunto le altre stoffe che variano fra viscose di cotone e garza di cotone per rendere l’insieme di ispirazione gitana!
To achieve the gypsy look, I’ve chosen black cotton together with cotton viscose and cotton gauze!
I dettagli! The details!
I dettagli sono come sempre presenti e per quanto mi riguarda la paramontura davanti con il fiocchetto per chiudere il collo regala il meglio di sè quando è a contrasto!
Details are always a must and the first cute detail is the yoke front-facing: isn’t it the cutest when done with a contrast fabric?
E sì, il polsino della manica interno è anch’esso a constrasto! Perchè questo è il potere del cucito, giusto? Scegliere i dettagli proprio come ci piacciono!
And yes, the internal sleeve cuff is in contrast too! Cause this is why we sew, right? Being able to choose our own details!
