Summer Jamboree 2019: numero 2!

Ciao! A volte ritornano e sì, è del Jamboree del’anno scorso! Hey there! Sometimes, things come back and yes, I’ve sewn it last year!

Questo vestito arriva in un momento in cui si sta ripartendo: siamo a maggio e ripensando al passato, al Summer Jamboree 2019, sembra successo tutto una vita fa! This dress comes in a time when things are getting back to normal. If I think about the past, seems a life ago!

La realtà, è che solitamente di certo so con quale tessuto inizio e, come dimostra anche questo vestito, la forma che prenderà alla fine realmente lo so solo alla fine! Truth is, usually when I design something for myself, I basically know the fabric I’m starting with, but the real and finished design, is always a guess! No idea until it’s finished!

Per il Summer Jamboree 2019 (non ho idea se quest’anno si farà) avevo in mente qualcosa di super strutturato ma ehi, il tempo ha fatto da tiranno e mi sono orientata su qualcosa di relativamente semplice.

I would have loved something very structured for Summer Jamboree 2019 (still no idea if they will do it this year too) but you know, life and time got in between, so went for something pretty easy.

Un pò di tecnica! Let’s get technical!

Come ti anticipavo prima, questo vestito sarebbe dovuto essere molto diverso da come è venuto. Alla fine però, gli elementi di corpino staccato dalla gonna sono rimasti, quindi è andato bene così!

As I told you before, this dress should have looked like very different from what it’s now. There’s one thing though that remained the same: bodice detached from the skirt and I was ok with it.

Il vestito è composto da un corpino trasformato in simil canottierina con pince di seno e ripresa di vita sul davanti e una gonna arricciata in vita con le tasche!

The dress is formed by a bodice with a vest shape, with bust and waist darts and a gathered skirt with pockets!

Il dietro presenta anch’esso due riprese di vita con una lampo centrale sul dietro.

The back bodice has two waist darts and the central zipper the finishes on the gathered skirt.

Sono completamente contenta di questo vestito? Non saprei. Partendo dal fatto che è stato fatto con gli avanzi del tessuto di questo trench, ho cercato di ridurre la mia idea di partenza il più possibile. Riduci riduci, la riduzione c’è stata e ammetto avrei voluto una gonna molto più ampia di così.

Am I super happy with this dress? Uhm, I don’t know. It was made with the remnants of this trench, I’ve tried to reduce my initial idea. Actually, the reduction affected the skirt the most cause I would have loved something wider than this.

Forse ho sempre in mente i km di tessuto che servono per una ruota, forse non sono una grandissima amante delle arricciature, non lo so, però ecco, mi piace ma con riserva.

Probably I still got in mind the yards you need for a full circle skirt, probably I’m not a huge fan of gathering, I don’t know, I like it but not 100%.

I dettagli! The details!

Una cosa che adoro seriamente in questo vestito sono le spalline: avevo in mente queste spalline a spaghetti da tempo e non vedevo l’ora di inserirle in una creazione: sono la parte che preferisco in questo vestito!

There’s one thing I really love, though, in this dress: the spaghetti straps! I had in mind to use spaghetti straps for a long time and they seemed so perfect for this dress so I went for them!

E il tessuto? What about the fabric?

Il tessuto è un cotone da arredamento che avevo già utilizzato per il trench a fiori sopracitato e in questo vestito risalta molto, grazie ai pochi dettagli che ci sono.

The fabric is a upholstery cotton that I’ve used in the previously mentioned trench and I think is pretty appropriate for this dress. The flowers pop out and that’s what I was looking for!

Cosa ne pensi di questo vestito? Sebbene non ne vada matta, penso sia comunque carino e adatto per le sere d’estate durante una passeggiata o un giro (finalmente!) con gli amici!

What do you think about this dress? Even though it’s not my favourite dress, I do think it still look cute for summer nights and (finally) casual strolls with friends!
