Due note importanti prima di iniziare:

Tutti margini di cucitura che vedrai in questo tutorial sono di 1 cm per le cuciture e 0.7 cm per le impunture. Se preferisci farle diverse, adattale pure a te! Prima di iniziare a cucire, consiglio spassionato per esperienza, arriva fino in fondo al tutorial per saperti regolare con tutti i passaggi ed avere un’idea generale.

Please read this before starting:

All seam allowances in this tutorial are 1 cm and 0.7 cm for topstitching. Feel free to adapt them to you if they don’t suit you! Before starting to sew, a little bit of unwanted advice, read carefully through all of the tutorial, to have a complete idea and know where you’re going.

Accertati che gli strati che compongono il triangolo che ti è risultato dal taglio siano tutti esterni.

Make sure all the triangle fabric’s layers are placed towards the outside.

Ora stira piatto dal rovescio.

Now press flat the wrong part.

E dal dritto. And on the right part.

Stirare prima di cucire e fermare il triangolo, aiuta nella cucitura e ad avere un risultato più pulito e lineare.

Pressing before sewing, helps the future seam to lay flat and have a nicer and smoother result.

Monta sulla tua macchina il piedino per le lampo normali, quello con cui applichi le cerniere ai jeans.

Change the foot on your sewing machine and use the zipper foot.

Ora inserisci il piedino a fianco della fine del triangolo e cuci per tutta la lunghezza del triangolo.

Place the triangle of the welt on the side of the zipper foot and sew it all down.

Non avere paura di essere troppo vicina: il piedino ha uno spazio in cui si inserisce l’ago e ti permette così di essere precisa.

Don’t be afraid to be too close: the zipper foot has a little space where the needle goes into, so stay as close as possible.

Ecco come sono le cuciture sul triangolo che hai appena creato.

Here’s how the seams are.

Per fermare in maniera pulita e piatta le tasche al filetto, gira la prima tasca al rovescio. Ti troverai la parte dove hai attaccato la teletta termoadesiva esposta.

To prevent the welt to go everywhere, it’s time to topstitch it. Turn around the pocket on the wrong side. You will find in front of you the interfacing you previously pressed on.

Sempre utilizzando il piedino per le cerniere normali impuntura vicino alla cucitura.

Use your zipper foot and topstitch close to the previous seam.

Questa è la tua cucitura finita.

This is the finished seam.

Questa è la cucitura al dritto. Ora passa a fermare l’altra parte del filetto su se stesso.

This is the seam on the right side. Now turn the other part of the welt on the wrong side.

Giralo al rovescio: anche qui ti troverai con la parte dove hai attaccato la teletta termoadesiva esposta.

Turn the welt on the wrong side. You will find in front of you the interfacing you previously pressed on.

Cuci sempre con il piedino da cerniera normale a filo della cucitura precedente.

Use your zipper foot and topstitch close to the previous seam.

In questo modo hai fermato entrambe le parti del filetto.

You now have topstitched both parts of the welt.

Con oggi abbiamo finito il filetto della nostra tasca!

We’re done with the welt pocket!
